General FAQ

  • No, you are not locked into a set number of sessions. However, following our complimentary introduction session we plan a strategy session when we talk about the big goals of coaching and I usually recommend a minimum of 8 sessions.

  • You can expect to gain clarity, develop strategies for tackling challenges, build self-confidence, and learn techniques for managing life. But I can’t do it for you - so you’ll need to be prepared to do the work on yourself.

  • We will discuss this in our call but most people like 50-55 minutes for a session.

  • I’ll be happy to chat about that during our introduction session.

  • I coach people with and without ADHD - my qualification allows me to work with anyone who would like to work with me.

  • Therapy is typically focused on healing from past trauma or emotional difficulties, while coaching is future-focused and goal-oriented. Coaching helps you create action plans, improve performance, and move forward.

If you're looking for practical strategies coaching might be a good fit but if you’d like to focus on the events that have got you to this space you may find therapy works better. I’m really happy to talk this over.

  • That’s up to you. It is perfectly acceptable to have coaching at the same time as therapy but I’d always recommend discussing it with your therapist.

  • First and foremost we are going to get to know each other a little, our connection really matters so that’s definitely step one. We will talk about what you already know about coaching, what brought you to this point and we will also chat about how we might be able to work together moving forward.

  • It’s a great question to be asking because there is no doubt that being ready will mean you get the most out of coaching. When we can I can give you a quick questionnaire which might help you work out if now is a good time to start coaching.

ADHD Coaching FAQ

  • While I cannot provide a diagnosis I can help you prepare for the process by helping you better understand your symptoms and concerns.

  • I’m not a teacher but I can help you work out what works for you, and with agreement and discussion I can share tips and ideas along the way.

  • No, as a coach, I do not prescribe medication. However, I can work in tandem with any treatments you’re receiving by helping you manage habits, build strategies, and support your personal growth.

  • Yes, I work with individuals who have neurodivergent conditions such as autism, dyslexia, or other learning differences. We’ll tailor the coaching to suit your unique needs and strengths.

  • You definitely don’t need a diagnosis to make positive changes. Whether you’ve been formally diagnosed, suspect you have ADHD, parent a child with ADHD or have no connection to ADHD, coaching can help you better understand your brain and create strategies that work for you.

Child Coaching FAQ

  • The short answer is no - but I do understand their reticence when they don’t know what coaching is - or can be! I will happily chat with your child and see if we connect but they do have to engage with the process, and I’m afraid I can’t coach a child who is determined not to engage in the sessions. I regularly work first with parents in coaching sessions before working with children which can help to create a positive environment.

  • If your child is struggling with severe mental health issues, a therapist might be needed. However, if they’re facing challenges like low self-esteem, anxiety around school or friendships, or fear holding them back from doing what they want, coaching can be a powerful, positive tool. We can discuss what’s best for your child in our initial chat.

  • When coaching children, I use age-appropriate activities and tools that engage their imagination and boost their self-esteem. Depending on the age of the children sessions may involve stories taken from the Wisdom© curriculum, and exercises/crafts that help kids understand emotions, set goals, and develop self-confidence, all while addressing any specific challenges they may face (like anxiety, fear or self-confidence issues).

  • I generally coach children upwards of 7. Once they hit 13 I use a mixture of coaching techniques to ensure they get the best out of coaching sessions. It very much depends on the child and our conversations together.

  • It’s really important we don’t make your child think they need fixing - but rather helpful and exciting tools to use. I have a questionnaire they might enjoy looking at but we can chat about this when we have our intitial conversations

  • We will cover this important issues when we have our call.

Cost FAQ

  • Do have a look on my fees page on the website, and if you have any questions contact me and we can have a chat.

  • I offer a much-reduced 6-session package for those who need the support but can’t afford my fees. It isn’t free as my experience has told me that usually leads to people not committing but I keep the cost low. I have a waiting list for that package so please make sure you add your name to the list either by signing up to my mailing list or dropping me an email and I’ll let you know when I have a space.

  • If you are in the UK you can apply through Access to Work. https://www.gov.uk/access-to-work

You don’t need to have a formal diagnosis of ADHD but you’ll need to show how you are being impacted in your work.

There are a number of coaches who can support you through the paperwork.

  • It depends on your insurance plan or country of residence. Some insurance providers cover life coaching, but it's best to check directly with them.

  • All the terms and conditions of our coaching relationship will be set out in our contract when you decide to book coaching sessions.
